Pay Per Post

Pay Per Post advertisments ask that the blogger writes a blog post about a topic, usually with links to the advertisers website.

This program has some good possibilities. There are many options to advertisers and bloggers, including paid posts, in context advertising, rotating ads and more.
Dislikes:
Very complicated. Their terminology is not clear and the help files are lacking in explanation. The site is hard to navigate and not clearly laid out.

Snazzy look. Has a "post exchange" system, where you can post about another site and another site will post about you. The person who posts about you will probably not be the same person who you posted about.
Dislikes:
I've never seen a opportunity that I was interested in. The post back I got from the PX was garbage (but I didn't complain) and one of mine was rejected for a single spelling error (loose for lose).

They have a lot of opportunities for you to choose from. If you don't like an opp, you can hide it, so it will not show up again.
Dislikes:
As a blogger, it can take a long time to get an opp, then you have to do it quickly. You request an opp that you are qualified for, the advertiser reviews it and then decides if you are qualified or not. It seems that I have to apply for 10 to get 1. Kinda frustrating.

Social Spark

Summary:
Social Spark social networking meets advertising. You can network with other bloggers in numerous ways. One of the greatest networking tools they have is what they call "Sparks". With Sparks you ask others to post about a topic. There are options here, such as offering to "Blog U Back". These Sparks add a little spark to the networking business. You do not get paid for Sparks, but you do generate good will and comradeship, which are important in blogging. Social Spark offers several different advertising options, and which you use is all up to you. You apply for the job, and if you get it, you get paid. The options include paid posts, sponsorships, affiliate programs and pay per click as well as Sparks. They may add other programs as time goes on. You may or may not find anything you want to run on your site, but tomorrow you might find the perfect opportunity.

There are a lot of options, it is nice looking and improvements are regular. They use their own ranking algorithm, instead of Google's PageRank. The RealRank takes into account how many visitors the site gets, page views, and other details. It is not skewed by Google's "bad site" bias.
Dislikes:
Search options are limited, but have improved. You can view all open items of a type, or all qualified items, but you cannot limit your search results to all qualified, open items of a particular type.

They offer a feed to offers that are available to you and a feed to the status of your posts, so that you can see quickly, in your feed reader, what is happening.
Dislikes:
Rarely more than a few offers available and they are mostly things I don't have interest in writing about.

These guys are pretty big. That means that they have a lot of advertisers.
Dislikes:
There was a lot of flack about these guys from Google. A lot of their posties lost their PR because of this and are now unable to make much money from posting. This is more a complaint about Google than PayPerPost though.

Blogsvertise

Summary:
Unlike other pay per post systems, Blogsvertise does not have a list of potential posts for the blogger to apply to. Instead of allowing the blogger to choose which posts, they get criteria from the advertiser and find the best bloggers for that advertiser. They then email those bloggers and ask them to write the article. Once the article has been approved the blogger gets paid. If they don't find enough bloggers within the criteria, then they have a section that bloggers can visit to see these. Their are rarely any here. Blogsvertise also has a strict application process. You apply and when they feel that your site is of the quality that they need, they will accept your application, no need to apply multiple times.

They will contact me when there is a job that I can do. Simple, easy to use site. Easy to manage the program.
Dislikes:
When I'm feeling proactive, there is nothing I can do to find advertisers to blog for through Blogsvertise.

I signed up with these guys a while ago. When I first signed up there was a link to post about them. I was going to do that the next day, but the link was gone. I've never seen another opportunity with them. I've also sent them emails asking why I have never seen an opportunity, but they never respond.

The site is well laid out and clean. Not a lot of clutter that makes it hard to navigate. Clear navigation at the top. List of all the bloggers who are members. This give us an extra link home and you can see clearly who else is using the service (or at least signed up for it). They require disclosure.
Dislikes:
They don't allow no-follow. That list of blogs is not sortable in any way. I'm buried on page 22. They don't have a lot of listings. They only had 5 and this was the only one I was qualified for. Advertisers can say that they want "positive" reviews only. Actually, this review was one of those. The require a $50 minimum for payout. With the few advertisers they have, this could take a while.
